President's Report

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude and thanks to my team, the Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee for all of their commitment to Capital Area membership and the community in which we live and serve.

Looking back over the last 12 months at Capital Area Federal Credit Union, I am very proud of all that we have achieved. We hit another milestone by breaking over the $60 million asset size, by growing the loan portfolio, not making any risky investments and keeping our delinquency and losses at a minimum. You, the members, should also feel proud of these milestones as you are the ones committed to our “People Helping People” philosophy.

The political environment is very challenging right now as Tom stated in his report and there are some big changes coming to the financial industry and we are doing our best to keep up with all the changes and to keep communication open. Things are changing, from Washington to Maine and with changes comes big responsibilities. I assure you that the Capital Area Federal Credit Union has the best team in a place that has your best interests in mind; so, I would like to take this opportunity to recognize your team:

In the last 36 years I have seen this credit union go through many changes, we are small, but we are mighty, and we continue with slow, steady growth but most importantly we do not forget where we come from, the members and the communities in which we serve.
